Part 1
This celebration came as the culmination of a multi-day series of workshops and pedagogical classes, in addition to being the product of much longer process of dedicated research and vocal training.
In this first part are opening remarks by Harley Schlanger, a short presentation on Robert Schumann and his circles from David Shavin; solo presentations of German lied written by Robert Schumann, such as Du bist wie eine Blume, Der Himmel hat eine Träne geweint, the full Dichterliebe song cycle, four pieces from Frauenliebe und Leben and Belshazar; all three movements of Beethoven's Cello Sonata Op. 69; a vocal quartet presentation of Schumann's Bänkelsänger Willie and Brahm's Der Abend; the chorus presented Schumann's Der König in Thule; and this first part ends with Bach's Bist du bi mir, and Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus presented by LYM Chorus. Lyndon LaRouche made some very intense personal remarks regarding the importance of the Ave and the LYM chorus sang it one more time.
Part 2
This second part has a short pedagogical presentation from David Shavin and John Sigerson on Felix Mendelssohn's Opus 13, along with the presentation of the first two movements, and more solo presentations of German Lied, including Schumann's Die Beiden Grenadiere and Wehmut, Mozart's An Chloe, Schubert's Heidenröslein and Litanei, and the night ended with a presentation of Brahms' Wie Melodien zieht es.
